Spiced Red Zinger Rum Punch

  • 5½ cups water
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 2-inch piece fresh ginger
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 10 Celestial Seasonings Red Zinger tea bags
  • 4 whole garlic cloves
  • 1 navel orange (sliced)
  • ¾ cup amber rum or to taste

Peel the ginger and cut it crosswise into thin slices. Boil the water, sugar, ginger, garlic, and cinnamon stick together in a medium-sized saucepan. Stir continuously until the sugar is dissolved. Then add the tea bags and remove the pan from the heat. Keep the tea bags into the mixture until the mixture cools down.
And then discard them along with the cinnamon stick. Transfer the tea to a pitcher. Chill the tea in a covered condition at least for 12 hours or up to one day. Remove the cloves and ginger from the tea, and discard. Then add the orange slices and rum to the tea. Serve this punch over ice in stemmed glasses.

  • ⅛ tsp. ground nutmeg
