The life at sea, the pirates, and high waters have always fascinated many of us in our childhood especially or even at a later stage in our lives. It doesn't come as a big surprise that parties of all ages have themes of the movie Pirates of the Caribbean. Let's take a look at some ideas that will help you in planning your soirée.

Things to Consider

Attire Satire

Let the invitees be dressed in a pirate costume - the eye patch, trademark headgear, bandanas, shirts, jazzy and eccentric accessories and so on. Someone can even dress up as a sailor from a ship wreck that has been marooned. This is the basic thing to start off with. If there is no possibility that you can conjure a costume, no worries, you would get them surely in a costume shop.

Decor'(um)

The ambiance should reflect the theme, therefore while decorating your place consider fish nets, treasure chests, anchors, ship models and swords, etc. Keep in mind the standard colors; red, black, white, and gold. These colors can be liberally used in almost all the aspects of the party. While setting the table, if possible use theme-based plates, napkins, and cups and serve beverages in it from flasks.

Flagging the Party

If you have time on your hands, making a reusable pirate flag. Make it in a size you want by purchasing white felt and black fabric. Have skull and bones or anchor cut from the fabric and paste it on the black cloth. Big, ragged stitches will make the whole endeavor even more authentic. Add to that some activities like treasure hunt, coloring and painting related to the theme (for kids), walk of the plank with the help of wooden plank, trivia and many more can be included.

Shipping Food

A sure shot hit among toddlers is to have goldfish crackers. In case of adults, glass mugs to serve alcoholic beverages like beer can be a good option. The food for adults can be something like chicken wings or even drummies. In addition to that, you can have a vegetable tray and shrimp rolls. They fit handsomely in the scheme of food.
At the end of the party, do not let the guests go away without party favors! These could be anything from gold-wrapped chocolate coins, a small anchor memento size, mini treasure chest and so on!
