Easy-to-make Birthday Cakes for Adults

Thinking of a birthday cake idea is no doubt a daunting task. It becomes difficult to decide which design or pattern would go with the theme and decorations of the party. Some typical flavored cakes are always popular amongst adults, like the chocolate cake or the fruit cake.
These cakes have become common, but it takes a lot of time to prepare them. The following write up will give you some great recipes.

Disco Ball Cupcakes

  • 3 cups, all-purpose flour
  • 1¼ cups, unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup, unsalted butter
  • 2 cups, granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon, salt
  • 1 cup, sour cream
  • 1¼ cups, strong coffee
  • 1 teaspoon, pure vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon, pure almond extract
  • 2 teaspoon, baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon, baking soda

Preheat the oven to 350 ºF and line 2 muffin tins with cupcake wrappers. Sift the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder in a large bowl and it set aside. In another bowl, mix the vanilla, and almond extract along with sour cream, set aside.
In a mixer bowl fitted with paddle attachment, mix sugar, and butter, beat on medium speed until smooth. Lower the speed and then, add the eggs, one at a time, scrape thoroughly after each addition. Now, alternately add flour and sour cream mixtures in 2 batches, start with flour mixture.
Pour in the coffee and beat until well-combined. Now, divide the batter evenly in the prepared muffin tins. Bake for about 25 minutes in the preheated oven. Allow to cook for 20 minutes before moving to wire racks.

French Fries Cake

  • 1 frozen pound cake (thawed)
  • 1 round cake
  • 1 can, vanilla frosting
  • Red food coloring

Trim the round cake so that it fits the bowl or plate. Line the bowl or plate with a wax paper. Add 3 tablespoons vanilla frosting to the bowl, set aside. Spread the remaining vanilla frosting over the trimmed cake.
Preheat a broiler. With the help of a bread knife, trim the darker crusts of the pound cake then cut it crosswise, into about ½-inch thick sticks. Place the pound cake sticks in a row, on a sheet pan. Place the sheet pan under the preheated broiler for about 15-30 seconds, or until the tops are golden brown from each side.
Place these 'French Fries' on top of the frosted cake. For making the ketchup, add food color to the remaining vanilla frosting and then spoon the mixture into a resealable plastic bag. Place a mini-paper cupcake liner on top of the cut pound cake. Pipe the 'ketchup' into the mini-paper cupcake liner.

Bacardi Chocolate Rum Cake

  • 1 packet, chocolate cake mix
  • 1 packet, chocolate pudding mix
  • 4 eggs
  • ½ cup, dark Bacardi
  • ½ cup, oil
  • 1 packet, whipped cream
  • 1½ cup, cold milk
  • ½ cup, cold water

First preheat the oven to 350 ºF, also anoint and flour two 9-inch pans. Take a large bowl and combine all the ingredients in it, mix well and then bake it for about 30 minutes in the oven. Your chocolate rum cake is ready.
