Divine Cold Appetizer Recipes

A widespread of cold appetizers are the best way to begin a party. They are delicious and go very well with cocktails.
It is noticed that the host of a party does not enjoy themselves as much because he/she is busy with food preparation. Cold appetizers are an easy way to keep you as well as your guests happy. They are easy to prepare and you need not worry if your guests are late or the food getting cold. These recipes will help you sort out a nice menu for a great party.

Almond Cheese Spread

Ingredients
  • 3 cups, white cheddar cheese (shredded)
  • 6 tablespoons, mayonnaise
  • 2 teaspoons, onion powder
  • Pepper (just a pinch)
  • 5 chopped green onions
  • Louisiana hot sauce
  • 5 tablespoons, sliced almonds
Method
Take a bowl and mix the cheese, mayonnaise, onion powder, pepper, and the sauce well. Add the onions and almonds and toss again. Refrigerate the spread for 4 hours. Your appetizer is ready. This spread tastes great when served with celery ribs or crackers and goes very well with all kinds of cocktails.

Seafood Salad

Ingredients
  • 2 small packets, salad shrimp
  • 4 pack, of imitation crab meat
  • 1 cup, green onions diced
  • 1½ tablespoons, Creole seasoning
  • 1 can, cream of celery soup
  • 2 tablespoons, butter
  • 1 teaspoon, salt
  • 3 tablespoons, ranch dressing
  • 2 teaspoons, black pepper
  • 3 tablespoons, mayonnaise
Method
Cook the shrimp, onions and Creole seasoning in a saucepan with butter. Cook till the ingredients blend well and add the cream of celery soup. Stir the mixture well and let it simmer for 5 minutes. Pour it into a bowl allowing it to cool at room temperature and add crab meat, salt, pepper, mayonnaise and Ranch dressing. Refrigerate the blend overnight.

Mexican Pinwheel

Ingredients
  • ½ cup, sour cream
  • 2 cups, shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 packet, softened cream cheese
  • 1 teaspoon, chopped green chillies
  • 1 garlic clove (pressed)
  • 2/3 cups, chopped green onion
  • ¼ teaspoon, salt
  • 8 flour tortillas
Method
Combine all the ingredients one by one, except for the flour tortillas. Spread the mixture (about ½ cup) on each of the tortilla. Wrap the rolled tortillas in a plastic wrap. Refrigerate for 8 hours.
After refrigeration, unwrap the rolls, and cut them into slices. This can be served on toothpicks and you can also provide a dip of your choice alongside. Salsa dip would go very well with this cold appetizer.

Caramel Fruit Dip

Ingredients
  • 8 ounces, cream cheese
  • ½ cup, brown sugar
  • 1 cup, sugar
  • 2 teaspoons, vanilla extract
  • Slices of your favorite fruit. (Green and red apples are the popular choices)
Method
Mix the ingredients well, apart from the fruits. Refrigerate the dip for a few hours. Serve the dip with slices of the fruits.
